I am still very happy with these 3, all of them are still in my barn after our hard cull. They have finnished well. Happy I came across this photo from October 2020 show. Dangernoodle, walk away, freedom

It has been a few months so I am going to try to go back a bit. ( Meet Jazkabor's Lionel ^ #4 this is a couple months ago now, I think he was 3 months.) We had a young lilac litter last post. And though I thought I had picked out my two possible keepers, 2 & 3 two little does I really liked. All but one, my last choice #4, had at least one white nail. I took a cute photo of my favorite girl and I "bonding". After so many DQ'ed babies I sold the sire and all kits but Lionel. Really only keeping him to see how this body shape would turn out. I wish I could have grown them out longer, but I really didn't' think those WHITE nails were going to darken. And even though I really liked the fathers type, I just didn't see myself breeding him to any of my other does and chancing white nails again.... kind of wish I had more space and money so I could have kept them all a few more months. I have been feeling really iffy about Lionel's type, but his temperament is wonderful! I have "given" him to my little boys, because he seems to be bombproof. He is quiet like his mother, with out being painfully shy. ;) I have always seen potential in him, but have never felt confident in what he will finish out. I take a lot of photos of him and pass them around to himalayan friends and bug them for thoughts. ;) Jazkabor's Lionel 4 months ^^
He was entered at St Helens Frozen Friends show B & C, and got good comments from both judges one giving him Best Jr of Breed ( um think that was out of two....;) But my handsome #3 was very excited his bunnny won a ribbon, and wore his blue ribbon proudly. <3 He is almost a Sr, but before then he will be shown again at Astoria A & B shows! :) Our Lilac Himalayan litter are one week old today and to celebrate we brought them out and snapped some photos. They are so cute, fuzzy yet silky warm little things. I am excited and shocked to see such eggs (nose markings) on them already! I didn't expect to see any markings at all! Hope to get one of them granded before the dreaded Lilac smut takes over.
Daisy has been a perfect mother this go around and I am now looking forward to breeding her again, before I look into finding her a forever home as a gardeners friend. <3 First baby on the left is the moose of the litter, with the littlest one at the end on the right. One of these babies is a house pet hopeful, sure hope that works out. And for Jazkabor Farms future I hope to have one or two worth showing and maybe replacing their parents. May have two or three for sale in 7-10wks. I was hoping to have this litter and our baby cavies ready for homes by the time Fall Swap was here, but sadly I confused my calendar and NEITHER will be ready! These will be 6 wks by swap time and the cavies have not even arrived yet. So those will be posted for good homes here on the blog as well. Jazkabor's Nick, my favorite buck. A blue boy out of Beach Buddies Daisy sired by Sam. He has two Grand Champion legs, and a litter of babies we are watching grow. He had his first birthday two weeks ago, and I hope to have him complete his Grand Championship soon! The black buck on the for sale list is his son. *please ignore my embarrassing baby talk* We woke up on day 34 and found Daisy had built a beautiful nest that held her 5 perfect babies.
We are very excited to be done stressing, and to see her be a wonderful mother! Her babies are six days old, and all 5 still look perfect in every way. Big healthy babies. Can't wait to see them grow up and reach the show table. I tried to get some nice pictures of the kits I am retaining. Not sure how I feel about any of them right now, making myself wait out this (what I hope) is an ugly phase. They come from such beautiful parents. You can see them on our Buck and Doe pages. Though Nick still doesn't have a great picture for type, but the cutest "sniff the camera" shots. ;)
Daisy got her nest box yesterday! I thought she was on day 28 on Monday, and oops- she was really day 30. Luckily she isn't an early bird. Today, 31, I am excitedly noticing differences. She is laying in an abnormal fashion. And spent quite a bit of time today "grooming" her sides, which I have never seen her do before. I am really excited she is NOT using her box as a permanent resting place/litter box like she did last year. I wish I could say I had seen any hair laying about, or hay moved around but sadly NO! Just crossing my fingers she puts those babies IN the BOX! Come on, Daisy Baby, you can do it! I have a VIDEO of Daisy on our Facebook Page. https://www.facebook.com/jazkabor.farms Oh, oh, oh, I think I just made a youtube upload! Hopefully you can view my video below. :D Blue Buck from Flying Paws Alice X Jazkabor's HawkeyeBlack Buck from Cactus' Maria Ross X Jazkabor's NickChocolate Buck from Cactus' Maria Ross X Jazkabor's NickYou can see parents, grandparents, and their winnings on our Himalayan Buck and Doe pages. We also have a Jr doe (black) with nicer type then these boy but she is breeder quality because she has a nip taken out of her ear.
We didn't think to pause for pictures during, so I can't show you how well they posed and how long they held it for us. These "keepers" were getting a bit obnoxious though adorably so! Turns out we picked out all the does, so we will have to keep watching for the right buck! We need to let go of at least four in the near future, so let us know if your interested because right now we could be swayed to let go of a good looking jr. :)
